Rudrabhishekam is the ultimate pooja which is performed to Lord Shiva. The main part of this pooja is the Rudram which will be chanted throughout. This pooja gives one the ultimate blessing of Lord Shiva.
Rudra abhishek pooja for nullifying the negative energies & fulfilling all the desires.Lord Shiva is 'God of Gods' - Mahadev. He grants boons, bestows grace and awakens wisdom. He is omnipresent and, he resides in everyone as pure consciousness. Rudra is another name of Lord Shiva. Chanting Shri Rudram (also known as Rudra Upanishad & Satya Rudrriyam) purifies the entire atmosphere. In Kaivalya Upanishad it is said, “Rudra Japam” can wipe out all sins and acts as a ‘Prayaschitham’ for all. The Sri Rudram identifies 346 desires of human beings to be fulfilled to have a peaceful daily life and invokes Lord Rudra to fulfil all of them.
Rudra Abhishek is a ritual, involving pouring pure water or ghee, milk, sugar, curds or honey on a Shiva Lingam while simultaneous chanting of Vedic mantras and performing a pooja to please Lord Shiva. Rudra Abhishek brings positive energy and removes negative vibes in the performer and it is believed that when Rudra Abhishek is performed, nature flourishes and becomes happy. Rudra Abhishek is the most benevolent pooja of Lord Shiva.
Rudrabhishekam pooja is done to worship lord Shiva in Rudra form. Rudra Suktham is chanted while performing the Abhishekam to the Shiva lingam. Lord Shiva is also known as Bholenath as he gets very easily pleased by the prayers of his devotes.
In this pooja Shiva lingam is bathed with panchamritam and water. All the eleven forms of Rudra are worshiped by using 11 types of abhishekam, Rudra vilva archana, shiva astotra and 11 types of namaskarams are performed.
After the Pooja is completed the Kalasha water which was kept for the pooja are used to perform abhishekam for both the swamy and the Devotee.
Date can be fixed as per one’s janma nakshatra, the yoga and thithi of that date. Mondays and Pradosha Days are very auspicious to perform Rudrabhishekam.
